West Virgina offering Energy Star rebates and tax savings

From Sept. 1-7, Energy Star rated products, such as energy star air conditioners, refrigerators, and other appliances, will be exempt from the 6 percent state sales tax.

This statewide sales tax holiday and rebates are only for products with the Energy Star label. To qualify for the tax relief, the Energy Star items must be under $2500 and be for a home use, not a commercial purchase.

The week-long Energy Star rebate program is a way to save electricity and to get people used to the idea of utilizing these energy efficient products in the long run.
