Free Home Heating Oil Saves Energy

Take advantage of free home heating oil from Citizens Energy. There is no better way to save energy then using something that is free!

The Citizens Energy Oil Heat Program delivers millions of gallons of free or discount home heating oil to mostly low income and elderly households in cold weather states. This program has been running since 1979.

Citizens Energy works in partnership with CITGO and thousands of local fuel oil companies throughout the nation as well as local fuel assistance agencies in almost 20 states to provide deliveries of free home heating oil to those in need. The program helps families lower their energy and electricity bills as the free oil will allow them to pay less on those energy bills.

Almost 200,000 families have had their energy needs helped by this free heating oil program.

While the federal government does provide some aid and energy assistance to low-income families that are struggling to stay warm during the winter through the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP), the assistance provided by the government only reaches about one in five eligible families. So many people are left out. And many other working, lower income families who do not qualify for federal assistance programs still need help from time to time and this program is a way for them to get energy assistance.
